This was just the first of many adventures, with travel and exploring new places being one of my passions. I also enjoy beauty, style and comfort, spontaneous gatherings with friends and family, good laughs, and meaningful conversations.
Since my childhood, I have been advising and coaching family, friends, and colleagues in need. They seek me out for guidance because I help them find solutions and make them feel strong and empowered. My ability to connect with others on an emotional level puts them at ease. Due to my intuitive nature and my Jungian psychology training, I can recognize my clients’ underlying patterns that are holding back their true potential. Once they become aware of these internal obstacles, I help them create new patterns based on who they really are, their core values and beliefs.
Before taking up coaching as my career, I worked as a corporate communications professional, with several roles within financial institutions and other international companies. Although I enjoyed the challenge and recognition that came from working with these great organizations, I realised that I wasn’t truly fulfilled. While I was performing well and growing as a person – something was missing.
While I knew I needed a change, it took an unexpected life event for me to finally make the jump. A reorganization within ING Group meant that my position was made redundant, and soon after I discovered my new career in coaching. In the end, being laid off from ING turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. It gave me the push that I needed to stretch out of my comfort zone and investigate what I wanted to do next! I knew I wanted to do something with coaching, but I wasn’t sure. Luckily, I partnered with a coach who helped me understand myself better and make better decisions based on what truly inspires me. She helped me to see myself the way others do: as an inspiring and valued coach.
I find it deeply rewarding to have inspired some of my clients to become a coach themselves or to make drastic changes in their lives. They say: “It’s because of you that I discovered my coaching abilities. You believed in me before I believed in myself”. I feel touched and honoured to serve as a catalyst for positive change. The quote: “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear” is so true and we all need a ‘teacher’ from time to time to remind us of our inner strength and our commitment to both feel and live better.
